Easy olive oil bread dip Recipe

I’m a bread lover through and through, but swirl a crusty slice into a flavorful garlicky dip, and I’m in heaven. There’s just something I find irresistible about fresh bread meeting sweet, tangy, savory sauces—it takes a simple dipping experience to another level. Honestly, I could enjoy warm bread with a deliciously simple olive oil dip at every meal.

I love serving these dips when I’m hosting, and honestly, if it’s just me chowing down, I’ve been known to whip up one or both of these dips. They come together in minutes but disappear in seconds!

how to make olive oil bread dip step-by-step photos

Ingredients to make two olive oil bread dips.

Gather your ingredients.

Olive oil and minced garlic in two white bowls with a spoon.

Combine the olive oil and garlic: Find 2 small plates that have a slight lip, or 2 shallow bowls, and pour ¼ cup of olive oil into each. Then, stir 1 minced garlic clove into each.

Adding seasonings to the olive oil and garlic mixture.

Add seasoning: Stir ⅛ tsp of salt and ⅛ tsp of crushed red pepper into one bowl, and stir ⅛ tsp of salt and ⅛ tsp of black pepper into the other bowl.

Two white bowls of the finished dips.

Finish the dip: Add 1 Tbsp of honey to the bowl with the red pepper flakes, and 1 Tbsp of balsamic glaze, and ½ tsp of minced parsley to the other bowl.

Two bowls of olive oil dip with hands dipping bread.

Let sit: Let the dips sit at room temperature while you prepare your bread.

How to Store Leftovers

Store unused dip for no more than 3-4 days in the refrigerator. Be careful with storing fresh garlic in oil, it needs to be refrigerated to reduce the risk of botulism.

Serving Suggestions

Though I am most inclined to pick up a loaf of bread at the grocery store, when I have the time, I love making fresh bread at home. A quick and easy option I often turn to is this no-knead bread, as it works out so well every time I make it. For a little added flavor and fun, this cheesy beer bread tastes fabulous when dipped, as does this easy soda bread.
