These easy Roasted Sweet Potatoes turn tender, naturally sweet, and deliciously caramelized in the oven. You only need 3 ingredients and about 40 minutes!
Gather ingredients and preheat oven to 450℉ with your metal sheet pan preheating in the middle position of the oven.**
Wash sweet potatoes well and thoroughly dry them. Dice into large cubes, about ½ inch to 1-inch on each side.
Toss potatoes in a large mixing bowl with olive oil and salt.
Carefully remove preheated sheet pan from the oven and pour the sweet potatoes onto it, giving each potato cube room so they don’t steam instead of roast. Bake for 15 minutes.
Flip sweet potatoes after 15 minutes and roast for 10 additional minutes.
*Olive oil adds a little flavor, encourages browning, and helps the salt stick to the sweet potatoes. You can also substitute another neutral cooking oil, such as avocado, canola, or vegetable oil.**I always roast these sweet potatoes on a metal sheet pan placed on the middle oven rack. The potatoes shown in these photos were roasted on parchment paper, which made cleanup easy and still allowed them to brown beautifully. However, bare metal will give you a deeper sear, while foil is another convenient lining option.
