Ingredients

  • 1 1/3 cup old-fashioned rolled oats $0.23
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon $0.03
  • 1/4 tsp ground ginger $0.02
  • 1/4 tsp ground cloves $0.02
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts $1.38
  • 1/4 cup dried currants $0.43
  • 2 cups milk $0.62
  • 1 1/3 cup unsweetened applesauce $0.89

Instructions

  • Gather four 12oz. mason jars or any other type of small resealable container. To each container add the following ingredients in this order: 1/3 cup oats, 1/8 tsp cinnamon, 1/16 tsp ginger*, 1/16 tsp cloves, 2 Tbsp walnuts, 1 Tbsp currants, 1/2 cup milk, and 1/3 cup applesauce.
  • Place the lids on the containers and refrigerate at least over night and up to 4-5 days.
  • When ready to eat, simply dig in with a spoon, or empty the contents of the jar or container into a bowl and enjoy.

Notes

*For the 1/16th tsp measures, simply estimate half of a 1/8 tsp measuring spoon.
